Sainik Welfare dept conducts career counselling for youth

The Sainik Welfare Department today organized career counselling session for the Border youth of RS Pura sector.

The move, as per a spokesperson of the department, has been taken to save the border youth from falling prey to vicious inimical propaganda and drugs, crime and other evil paths of self-destruction amidst the tough situation faced by them due to continuous border firing.

“With this objective, the Director Sainik Welfare Department organised a counselling cum coaching session at army public school, Miran Saheb, Jammu in co-ordination with the local army authorities” he said.

War veterans Col Dr Virendra K Sahi VRC and Col Sham Lal, voluntarily conducted the counselling capsule to give detailed guidance to the boys and girls from the sensitive and affected border areas.

Director Sainik Welfare Department conducted the talk on the avenues available both to boys and girls and method of applying for jobs in armed forces.

As per the spokesperson, the veteran officers of J&K Ex- Services League have served as assessors in the army services selection boards and are voluntarily rendering this self-less service to guide the youth of the state. “Similar programmes have also been planned for other parts of the state” informed the Director Sainik Welfare Department Brig Harcharan Singh. He hailed the local formation commander and the Principal Army Public School Ritu Sharma for the help provided in organizing the noble venture.
