Government forces on Sunday launched a cordon-and-search-operation (CASO) in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Reports said that the CASO was launched in Zaloora area of Sopore early Sunday.
An official said that the search operation was launched following “specific” inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
He said that door-to-door searches were launched to locate the militants.
Meanwhile, youth took to streets and pelted the forces with stones to hamper the anti-militant operation.
The forces, reports said, retaliated by firing tear gas to chase away the protesters.
