Five cops, three under trails injured after police vehicle overturns in Kulgam

Five policemen and three under trials were injured after a vehicle they were traveling in met with an accident in Brazloo area of Kulgam in south Kashmir on Tuesday.

A police vehicle heading towards the district jail in Pulwama from a local court in adjoining Kulgam district with under trails skidded off the road and rolled down from Zig near a bridge at Brazloo, reported news agency.

In the mishap, five policemen and the three inmates were injured, they said.

Medical Superintendent SDH Kulgam Dr GM Bhat said that they have received eight injured persons including five cops and three prisoners, said the report.

Station House Officer (SHO), Kulgam Irshad Reshi also confirmed the mishap and said that all the injured have been hospitilized and their condition is said to be stable.

The officer said that the mishap occurred in the area when they were returning to the district jail Pulwama after attending the court hearing.

A case has been registered and investigation has been initiated, he said.
