A youth was killed while four others were injured when the Toyota Innova they were travelling in skidded off the Khuda Lahora-Nayagaon road on the intervening night of November 4 and 5. All victims are aged between 18 and 21.
The five youths were travelling in the SUV when an animal came in front of the vehicle. Gursewak, who was driving the SUV, lost control over the vehicle, which skidded and fell into a forest area.
Diljosh Brar, a resident of Faridkot, received a head injury and was taken to the PGI, where doctors declared him brought dead. Diljosh was sitting on the rear seat.
Those injured are Gursewak, Hardeep, Dilshaad and Mukul, all residents of Nawanshahr. They were taken to the GMSH, Sector 16 where Mukul was admitted and the others were discharged.
