SRINAGAR: Forest Department (Territorial) today organised a collaborative plantation drive under aegeis of “Save Manasbal Campaign” along with Wildlife Conservation Fund (WCF), Youth Parliament of Jammu and Kashmir (YPJK) in collaboration with Social Concern Group (SCG) at Daylar Hills, Manasbal in Sindh Forest Division, Ganderbal.
More than 250 healthy poly-raised conifer saplings of different species raised by the forest department in its hi- tech nurseries were planted on hilly terrains of Daylar, Manasbal. T
The plantation drive is an ongoing effort of the Forest Department to green the barren Hillocks and forest blanks especially in places of tourism importance in a collaborative mode with different NGOs. Pertinent to mention the Department very recently kick- started its Plantation drive in Kashmir Region from Baltal under Special Afforestation Project
The plantation drive at Manasbal saw huge participation of environment volunteers, locals, Government employees from different departments including forest officers/ officials, students and teachers.
