The police have arrested four persons who had fired shots at the house of Sikh preacher Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale’s follower in Rajinder Nagar on November 7 night.
The accused have been identified as Vishal Singh of Rajinder Nagar and Kawaldeep Singh, Rajinder Singh and Inderjeet Singh of Patti.

The police said the accused had targeted the house of Satnam Singh, hurled abuses and fired gunshots on Diwali night. Satnam is an activist of Parmeshar Dwar Gurmat Parchar Dal.

Dhadrianwale had recently announced a programme in Majha, which is being opposed by the Damdami Taksal and other Sikh groups.

ASI Gurshab Singh said Vishal and his friends Harpal Singh, alias Sunny, and Rahul Chaudhry were consuming liquor on Diwali night when Vishal and Sunny entered into scuffle. Vishal called his friend Rajinder Singh at Patti, who came to Amritsar along with Kawaldeep Singh, Inderjeet Singh, Maninder Singh and Harjot Singh, all of Patti.

They were not aware about the location of Sunny’s house. The accused confessed that they targeted the wrong house. They fired three gunshots on the gate of Satnam Singh’s house. Maninder Singh and Harjot Singh are still at large.
