Shopian gunfight aftermath: Two girls hit with bullets, shifted to Srinagar for treatment

Srinagar: Two girls have suffered bullet injuries during ongoing clashes with government forces in Nadigam village of southern Kashmir’s Shopian district Tuesday morning.

Sources told said that both the girls have been referred to Srinagar hospital for specialized treatment.

Reports said that government forces fired indiscriminately on civilian protesters who were pelting them with rocks and stones.

The clashes erupted after four militants were killed in a gunfight with government forces in the village. A para commando was also killed during the gunfight while three others were injured.

Local sources said that one of the two girls was hit by a bullet in her arm while the other was hit in her hand.
