Manyal inaugurates RBSK screening camp at Nagbani, Jammu

JAMMU, MAY 26: Minister for Health and Medical Education Devinder Kumar Manyal, today inaugurated a two-day medical Camp for screening and early intervention services for children under Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) at Maharaja Hari Singh Agricultural Collegiate School, Nagbani, Jammu.

While speaking on the occasion, Manyal said that the camp is being held as part of series in the State to improve the overall quality life of children, decrease child mortality, morbidity and out of pocket expenditure of the poor families.

Approximately, 3500 children enrolled in the School will be screened by 11 RBSK Mobile Health Teams in the two-day camp being held on 26thand 28th May 2018. Specialist services in Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Gynaecology, General Physician, Paediatrics, Adolescent Health Counselling were provided on spot to the children. Besides, screening awareness about various schemes of National Health Mission, health education, demonstration on techniques of hand washing etc was given to children.

Students at the camp pledged with the Minister to follow the healthy lifestyle and spread the message to everyone in their surroundings.

Mission Director, NHM, J&K, Dr. Yashpal Sharma, Family Welfare MCH & Immunization, J&K Dr. Sameer Mattoo, Chief Medical Officer, Jammu, State Nodal Officer, NHM, J&K, Dr Mohammad Shafi Koka and other officers from State Health Society, NHM, J&K, doctors from different specializations and students were present on the occasion.
