Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur and a team of Airports Authority of India analysed the feasibility of landing of aircraft and the likely obstacles in the way before preparing detailed report.

Mandi: Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Friday laid the foundation stone of 100-m span motorable double lane Cable Stay Bridge over Beas on the Hanogi-Kholanala road in Mandi district to be constructed by spending an amount of Rs 15.85 crore.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said this bridge would ensure better connectivity between Seraj and Drang area of the district. This bridge would prove an added attraction for the local people as well as the tourists.

This will be the first double lane Cable Stay Bridge in the state and would be completed within two years. The Chief Minister announced funds for construction of Bandi-Kanda, Kandi-Badodiya and Keradi roads. He also announced upgrade of primary school, Kukhlah, to middle school. He also announced opening of a veterinary dispensary and a health sub centre at Sharti. He said that a science block would be constructed at Government Senior Secondary School, Sharti. He also announced Rs 10 lakh for Gram Panchayat, Bandi, for various development works. He also announced Rs 5 lakh for construction of a helipad at Karthach-Kandudhar. The team analysed the feasibility of landing of aircraft and the likely obstacles in the way.
