JAMMU, DECEMBER 15: District Development Commissioner Ramesh Kumar today chaired a meeting of Bankers and Jammu and Kashmir Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) regarding implementation of J&K Rural Employment Generation Programme (JKREGP).
The meeting was attended by Deputy CEO KVIB, Pawan Kumar Gupta, LDM SBI, Bhupinder Singh, Cluster Head J&K Bank, Sr. T P Singh, Regional Manager J&K Grameen Bank, R K Narang, District Officer KVIB, BakilDass besides Branch heads of Banks and other concerned officers.
The officials of KVIB gave a detailed presentation on J&K REGP explaining the objectives of the programme mainly focusing on creation of self-employment opportunities in rural areas and small towns by developing the entrepreneurial skills among of the unemployed youth. The KVIB also apprised the district level bankers about the guidelines of the programme.
The programme will be implemented by J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board and the subsidy will be routed through J&K Bank for eventual distribution among the beneficiary entrepreneurs in their bank accounts.
Various issues related to nature of financial assistance, eligibility condition of beneficiaries, identification of beneficiaries were discussed in the meeting.
