Workshop on Management of Electronic Evidence held at Jammu

JAMMU, DECEMBER 18: Directorate of FSL Jammu and Kashmir, Jammu organised a workshop on management of the electronic evidence at Udyog Bhawan,Jammu. The police officials of various rank from districts, vigilance and crime branch participated in the workshop. Joint Director Aga Hassan, FSL Jammu and team of scientific officers from FSL Jammu and FSL Srinagar also participated in the conference.

The workshop was inaugurated by Anand Jain, IPS, Director Forensic Science Laboratory. In inauguration address, Director FSL emphasized on need for capacity building for the handling of the electronic evidence. He mentioned that due to admissibility of the electronic evidence in court of law, it becomes imperative to understand the importance of such evidence recovered during search of crime scene or suspects. The electronic evidence provides vital leads to investigation. He added that FSL cyber division facility is functional at FSL Srinagar and investigation agencies can make use of this facility.

Joint Director FSL stressed on the need of such collecting such evidence from crime scene and gave overview about the initiatives taken for the improvement of FSL.

During daylong session, speakers made presentations on various aspects of the collection and handling of the electronic evidence recovered from the crime scene and suspects. The importance of such evidence in criminal investigation was discussed threadbare.

Director FSL distributed certificates of participation to all participants and thanked his entire team for putting relentless effort to make this workshop a success.
