Khurshid Shah reviews progress on Rs 429 cr WB-funded projects

JAMMU, DECEMBER 18: Commissioner Secretary, PWD (R&B), Khurshid Ahmad Shah today reviewed the progress of World Bank-funded projects in R&B Sector at a joint meeting of the officials of R&B Department, ERA and visiting World Bank Technical Mission team.

Dr Raghav Langer, CEO ERA, Chief Engineers and other concerned officers were present at the meeting.

The meeting was informed that World Bank-funded projects worth Rs 429 crore including construction of roads, bridges, schools and colleges are under implementation in the State.

Commissioner Secretary R&B said that these projects are at various stages of execution and time-lines have been fixed for completion of all the projects to make the productive use of available resources.

Modifications of the qualification criteria to enable the local bidders to participate in the World Bank funded project which in turn will enhance the local participation was also discussed with the World Bank team.The WB Team while showing positive approach on the request asked for certain clarifications and documentation to enable them to review the same.

The World Bank team expressed satisfaction over the overall progress on implementation of projects in the State.
