RAJOURI, DECEMBER 18: Regional Outreach Bureau (ROB), Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, FOB Rajouri organized an awareness programme on the theme ‘Systematic Voters’ Education & Electoral Participation’ (SVEEP) at GGHSS Sunderbani.
The main aim of the programme was to develop a sustainable electoral culture among the new voters aimed at enhanced electoral participation.
The speakers, while addressing the participants, said that it is the duty of every citizen to participate in election process and contribute towards strengthening our democracy. They urged the students to come forward to register themselves as a voter as soon as they become 18 years of age and make a point that it is a responsibility of every citizen of country to come out and vote for the right candidate.
Vijay Mattoo,Incharge FOB Rajouri, enlightened the audience about the working and organization of Regional Outreach Bureau and said that it is holding similar programmes in Poonch, Udhampur, Kathua and Jammu.
A cultural programme including quiz contest, seminar and a skit was also presented on the occasion and the participating students were awarded first, second and third prizes for their team participation in quiz. Besides, the troupe of ROB presented theme based folk items.
Deep Kumar Sharma, Principle GGHSS Sunderbani, Sita Ram Vice Principle GGHSS, Abid Hussain, Naib Tehsildar, Prat (Sunderbani) Ram Lal Performer ROB, Jammu and others were present on the occasion.
