JAMMU, DECEMBER 19: Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma today chaired a meeting to review the performance of district committees constituted for monitoring the functioning of private coaching/tuition centers.
The meeting was attended by Director School Education Anuradha Gupta, ADC Jammu, Rishpal Singh, Joint Director school education M Latief, CEO Jammu J K Sudan. The ADCs and CEOs of the division attended the meeting through video conferencing.
The Div Com directed the district committees to expedite the pace of inspection and send to his office the Action Taken Report against the centres found violating the norms. He also directed to check the fee structure and other basic facilities of coaching institutes.
Meanwhile, the district level committees informed about the inspections conducted by them in their respective districts and the coaching centres closed for violating norms.
The CEO Rajouri informed that registration of two tuition centres has been recommended to Directorate of School Education, while 5 other cases are pending.
In district Kathua 3 centres have been recommended for registration while the district committee has closed four tuition centres after finding deficiency in facilities during inspection, the meeting was told.
Similarly, in district Ramban 5 coaching centres, lacking prescribed facilities, have been issued notice while one centre has been closed permanently and 3 others closed temporarily after finding deficiencies.
ADCs and CEOs of all the districts informed that the process of inspection is on and many centres have been closed by the district committees for violating the norms.
The Director School Education apprised the Div Com about the number of cases received for the registration of coaching centres from various districts.
