RAJOURI, DECEMBER 19: As a sequel to Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign, a painting competition was organized today by District Social Welfare Department at GGHSS Rajouri.
The event was organized with a view to promote the message of empowerment of girls, reinforce gender equality and educate people about the consequences of decline in sex ratio.
Students from 11 schools, both private and government, participated in the competition and expressed their views through their paintings.
While speaking on the occasion, DSWO Mohammad Naseeb, informed that a series of activities are being held across the district to spread the message of BetiBachao, BetiPadhao. He said such competitions will be organized in urban as well as rural areas to provide a platform to raise issues, concerns, and challenges faced by girls.
Later, certificates and prizes were distributed among the winners and the participants.
Also present on the occasion were officials of SWD, Principal GGHSS and staff.
