Chandigarh, December 24: With no boards displaying information about a fine for blowing the horn inside hospitals, the UT traffic police continue to challan ignorant patients and attendants, many of whom are outsiders.

A traffic police drive in this regard was on at the PGI today where two-wheeler and four-wheeler drivers, who blew the horn, were challaned. They were caught unawares when the police stopped them for challaning.

Motorists said the authorities should display information at the entry and exit points of the hospitals that these are horn-free campuses and those blowing the horn would be challaned. “It is a new exercise here; at least they should put up boards to make people aware about it. People who come here are already troubled, why do they want to add to their agony,” lamented a motorist.

In a random check, no information boards in this regard were found at the PGI, the GMCH, Sector 32, and the GMSH, Sector 16. However, a small notice was seen pasted at a corner of the PGI.
