Porter’s death on LoC: Family stages protest in Nowshera to demand compensation

The family members of a porter killed in cross-border shelling on Thursday staged a protest to demand compensation.

According to reports, the protesting family placed the body of the porter who was killed yesterday on the road at main bus stand Nowshera.

“We demand a fair policy for army porters who are regularly getting killed on the Line of Control,” a protester said.

They also demanded a government job for the deceased’s son and other benefits.

On Wednesday, the porter identified as Bodh Raj, 55, was killed in firing along the Line of Control in Nowshera area of Rajouri district.
