DDC Kishtwar reviews implementation of BBBP scheme

KISHTWAR, DECEMBER 27: District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana convened a meeting with district officers to review the implementation of ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ flagship programme in the district.

At the outset, Nodal officer for BBBP Scheme, Anoop Kumar briefed the chair that district Kishtwar was selected under the Multi-Sectoral intervention in the year 2018-19 after observing a declining trend in the Child Sex Ratio (CSR).

The meeting decided to launch ‘Noor Jevan Ka Betiyan’ campaign as a mission mode project under BBBP scheme in District Kishtwar.

After threadbare discussions, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar stressed on involving all stakeholders for effective implementation of the scheme.

He also advocated for conducting massive awareness programmes in the District for maximum impact under the scheme.

Brochures, handouts, posters, Nukad Nataks, cultural programmes, Mushairas, Jingles, songs in local dialect, running scroll on cable network, insertion of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao ring tones, symposium at village level, paintings on the walls of schools and Panchayat Ghars related to BBBP Scheme would be used as medium of awareness, the meeting was told.

CEO Kishtwar was directed to ensure the conduct of signature campaign, rally of school students, debate and quiz competition, pledge in morning assembly, appointment of one BBBP Ambassador in every classroom besides identification of five girls children who stand meritorious in class X and XII for their felicitation at district level.

DDC enjoined upon RDD department to ensure that celebration of women day and national girls child day on 8th March and 24 January respectively at block headquarters and panchayat level. Besides he asked the concerned to integrate every gram Sabha with BBBP scheme and celebrate “Ladli Divas” on 20th of every month.

DDC further impressed upon the Health department involve ASHA workers, Anganwari workers & other staff to encourage women folks for institutional deliveries.

Directions were issued to install ‘Gudda-Guddi Board’ displaying gender birth ratio month wise at district hospital, while it was also directed to take initiatives like displaying the name of the outstanding Girl child in every school on the notice board as ‘Girl of the Month’ to encourage the female child.

The meeting was attended by ADC Kishtwar, Pawan Parihar, Chief Planning Officer, Yasir L. A. Balwan, SDM Marwah, Kesar Bhawani, SDM Paddar, Rishi Kumar, Nodal officer BBBP, Anoop Kumar, and other District officers.
