JAMMU, DECEMBER 27: Department of Social Forestry Division Doda today launched its winter Plantation drive which was inaugurated by Additional PCCF and Director Department of Social Forestry Suresh Kumar Gupta in District Jail premises Bhaderwah.
During the event, more than 400 ornamental plants were planted in a landscape manner.
On the occasion, Gupta informed that the Department is going to plant more than 59810 conifers and 134585 Broad leave/fruit plants in Social Forestry Chenab Circle with the primary objective of meeting requirements of local people like firewood and timber which would also address long-term environmental concerns.
He appealed participants to spread the importance and of plants in preserving the fragile mountain ecosystem among local residents.
Dr. Kumar, M.K, Regional Director Social Forestry Department Jammu, Ravi Bharti, ADC Bhaderwah, DFOs of Chenab Circle, besides field staff of the Division participated in the event.
