Students participate in Swasth Bharat Yatra

Cyclists from Ladakh and students from various institutions take part in the Swasth Bharat Yatra at Sukhna Laka in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, December 27: NSS volunteers of Government Home Science College participated in Swasth Bharat Yatra at Sukhna Lake, here on Thursday.

Punjab Governor VP Singh Badnore was the chief guest on the occasion. Students were holding placards and raising slogans regarding healthy and safe eating.

Later in the day, the NSS volunteers in the collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare organised a lecture on menstrual hygiene at adopted village Khuda Ali Sher.

Speakers from the Department of Social Welfare sensitised rural women to the occurrence of menstruation and recommended them to maintain personal hygiene during periods.

The audience actively participated in the event.

Principal Prof Sudha Katyal appreciated the efforts of the NSS volunteers and their mentors Seema Jaitly and Dr Neha Sharma to make full use of the platform towards the social cause of transforming society.
