A militant slain in a gunfight in Rinzipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday morning was identified as a local militant of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen outfit.
A police officer identified him as Ishfaq Yousf Wani son of Mohammad Yousuf Wani of Qoil village of Pulwama, reported news agency.
He said that the family of the slain has been informed and the body is being handed over to them for last rites, he said.
Earlier, the gunfight broke out after the search party of Army’s 55 RR and SOG was fired upon by the group of militants at Rinzipora area.
Quoting sources, news agency said two militants managed to escape from the spot.
