Hundreds of people on Friday staged a protest in Arunbuwa area of Boniyar in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district to demand arrest of culprits involved in the murder of a gym trainer.
Azim Nazir Khan (25), a resident of Boniyar, was found hanging from the ceiling of his gym centre in Azad Gunj area of Baramulla on December 18, days after he was reported missing by his family.
His body bore some torture marks on the face and police claim that the youth “might have been murdered”. The autopsy was conducted at district hospital Baramulla, but the report is yet to come.
The protesters blocked the Srinagar-Uri highway for several hours to demand arrest of the culprits.
“We want Justice. A 25 year old youth has been murdered why is police still clueless,” asked a protester.
Police has constituted a Special Investigation Team to probe the murder. However, no arrests have been made so far.
