Ayushman Bharat: District admin Bandipora mulls action against non-performing CSC

BANDIPORA, DECEMBER 30: Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Dr Shahid Iqbal Chowdhary Sunday said the government will take action against the Common Service Centre (CSC) operators who showed poor performance in registration of beneficiaries under Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY).

He also announced a cash reward of Rs 50,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively for the first three best performers of the district.

Deputy Commissioner announced this while chairing a review meeting to review the progress of Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) at Mini-secretariat Bandipora.

Chief Education Bandipora Munshi Javed, Chief Medical Officer Dr Bilkees Mir, District Statistical and Evaluation Officer Bandipora, Lead District Manager Bandipora Imitiyaz Ahmad Khan, Block Medical Officers, Block Development Officers, Nodal Officer ISM, representative from BSNL, CSC operators and other concerned officials attended the meeting.

The meeting was informed that some CSCs are not cooperating with the department for registration of beneficiaries that has lead to delay in the completion of the task.

Dr Choudhary said the administration has already passed the directions to CSCs and Khidmat centres to do registration process exclusively at the centres till the task is completed. He asked the Health officials to provide a list of non-performing CSCs so that action is taken against them. He said the government will cancel the registration of such CSCs.

He also appreciated the performance of various CSCs and announced a cash reward for them. He said certain CSCs have done a wonderful job despite all odds and adversities in Gurez, Sumbal and Hajin areas.

Earlier the meeting discussed threadbare the progress of the registration of beneficiaries and social mobilization to create awareness about the scheme. Dr Choudhary directed to remove all the bottlenecks that hinder the pace of registration process and on spot directions were passed to provide all requisite facilities to the field staff and CSC operators to ensure that the households are enrolled at earliest.

It was given out in the meeting that there are 16000 households identified under Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) 2011 consisting of about 93893 individuals who are entitled to be covered under the scheme in the district.

Giving the progress of the registration process, the meeting was informed that 28196 beneficiaries have been enrolled so far including 14870 in Bandipora block, 11406 beneficiaries in Hajin block and 1920 in Gurez block.

Dr Choudhary directed the officials of Health Department to launch awareness campaigns in rural areas at a grassroots level besides involving local elders to inform the beneficiaries to enroll at earliest.

He said Ayushman Bharat scheme is targeted at poor, deprived rural families and identified the occupational category of urban workers’ families and entitles beneficiaries to a defined Health cover of Rs 5 lac per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization.

While expressing concern over the slow pace of progress of the scheme, DDC Bandipora stressed upon concerned departments to work in tandem and close coordination with each other and mobilize their field functionaries to complete the registration process, disseminate the awareness at the villages and Mohalla level, so that eligible beneficiaries get enrolled within the stipulated time. HE also directed Health Officials to organise mass camps at CHCs and PHCs and to ensure mobilization of beneficiaries

The meeting was informed that 120 Common Service Centres (CSCs) and Khidmat centers across the district are currently enrolling beneficiaries under the scheme.

The CSC officials are being aided by the officials of Health Department, Asha workers, Anganwadi workers and other allied staff to ensure no entitled family is left behind.
