RAJOURI, JANUARY 03: Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Aijaz Asad today chaired a meeting with the concerned officers to discuss modalities for advance registration for service providers from the district during the Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2019 following instructions issued by CEO Shri Amarnath Shrine Board in this regard.
It was informed in the meeting that the Service Providers Ponywallas shall be registered by the Labour Department with Assistant Labour Commissioner as the Nodal Officer. Besides, the Animal Husbandry Department shall perform Glander Test of the ponies who have been proposed for registration while the character antecedents of the Service Providers shall be issued by SSP Rajouri. Only ponies which are in sound health will be registered and each Ponywallah will be registered.
The DC informed that this year Rajouri district has been given a total quota of 1500 number of ponies to be registered in a first come first serve basis.
The registration will start from 01 April 2019 at Registration Centres, which will be jointly managed by the Labour and Animal Husbandry Departments. The registration will last till 25th of the April 2019. Besides, Advance Registration, as well as On-Spot Registration of Ponywalls and Ponies, will be carried out under one roof, jointly by the Labour and the Animal Husbandry Departments.
Keeping in view the seasonal migration of the nomadic population, DC directed the officers of the animal Husbandry Rajouri to organize medical camps at the block headquarter for carrying out medical tests of their ponies.
The Labour Department shall issue bigger size Photo Identity Cards to each category of Service Providers, including Ponywallas. Further, the band number/registration number of the Pony will be mentioned in the Identity Cards of the Ponywalla.
DC urged all the Service Providers to get themselves timely registered for Yatra 2019 and get their Identity Cards issued in advance in order to avoid the last minute rush.
The meeting was attended by SSP Rajouri, Yougal Manhas, ACR Rajouri, Mohd Ashraf, ALC Rajouri, Angrez Singh Rana and the representative from the Animal Husbandry Department Rajouri.
