SHOPIAN, MAY 30: The District Election Authorities Shopian today organized a daylong training session for Booth Level Officers (BLOs) at Meeting hall of District Administrative Complex Shopian.
The training programme was inaugurated by Assistant Director FCS&CA Surjeel Ahmad in presence of Election Naib Tehsildar Shopian Mushtaq Ahmad.
They will be trained in ‘House to house verification of pre-filled BLO registers’ during the course which will continue till June 20, 2018. The BLOs will be trained in the use of hybrid mobile app’ to acquaint them with online voter registration and updation mechanism. The training will be held under the overall supervision of District Election Officer.
Speaking on the occasion, the EROs highlighted the importance of fault-free BLO registers for the fair conduct of the election. They emphasized upon BLOs to ensure that no household is left out from verification process of pre-filled BLO registers.
The training program was aimed to update the BLOs about the adoption of ICT tools like ERO NET launched by the Election Commission of India for online delivery of services. BLOs were made aware of procedure for conduct of house to house verification of pre-filled BLO registers and use of mobile-based applications to make necessary corrections.
The training was conducted through power point presentation by District Level Master Trainers (DLMT) Showkat Ahmad and Rayees Ahmad.
They explained the trainees about the online processing of forms through ERO net and role of BLO in online processing of forms besides highlighting other features like ER management and polling station management.
