Chandigarh: Three persons have been arrested after a woman reportedly ended her life at Mauli Jagran on January 2.
The complainant, Rakesh Kumar, a native of Muzaffarnagar district in Bihar, alleged that Ritu Raj, Satinder Singh, Bachni Devi, Vishal and Govinda, all residents of Vikas Nagar, Mauli Jagran, harassed his sister to bring dowry, following which she committed suicide.
Acting on the complaint, the police arrested Ritu Raj, Satinder Singh and Bachni Devi. A case under Sections 304-B (dowry death) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the IPC was registered at the Mauli Jagran police station.
