Shopian: January 4, 2018: Deputy Commissioner Shopian Dr Owais Ahmed today issued an advisory asking people and the youth not to walk or play over the frozen parts of water bodies and it’s interior parts stating that any such move can prove dangerous.The advisory has been issued Due to sub zero temperatures in Shopian parts of water bodies freeze these days, especially at the banks & interiors. He said It is dangerous & potentially life threatening to walk/play on it , so it is requested to take note & desist from any such action.
In view of the inclement weather conditions & the resultant issues in Kashmir valley, including Shopian District, district Administration Shopian has set up winter control room for the benefit of the general public comprising Additional Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Tehsildar Shopian, Executive Officer Municipal Committee, and officials from R&B, PHE, Mechanical Engineering and PDD Departments.
