Government forces on Thursday launched a cordon-and-search operation (CASO) in the farms of Gusoo village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
A police official said a joint team of army, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and SOG of Jammu and Kashmir Police ring-fenced vast farms of the Gusoo village and began a search operation.
The operation, he said, was launched after the forces received information about the presence of militant hideouts in the area.
The operation was underway when this report was being filed.
A search operation was launched in Handew village of adjoining Shopian district following inputs about the presence of militants, said an official.
The operation was called off after few hours as no militant was found in the area, a police official at Shopian said.
