Sonepat: The police have arrested four persons for allegedly firing at Devender, alias Bhukka, of Baiyanpur village in the district at the Civil Hospital here on Tuesday.
Bijender, Rinku, Sunny and Neeraj were produced in court on Friday and were taken in two-day police custody.
During preliminary interrogation, they confessed to attacking Devender to take revenge. They said they had been fired at by Devender in May in a matter related to liquor business. A case of attempt to murder was registered against Devender and others in the case, they said.
Devender’s younger brother died in a road accident on Tuesday. He had brought his body to the Civil Hospital here for a post-mortem examination when he was allegedly attacked by the accused.
He was taken to a private hospital in Delhi. On his statement, a case was registered against eight accused, said Krishan Kumar, in charge, Sikka colony police post.
