Four persons were wounded after the government forces fired live ammunition and pellets at the protesters in Sugan village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district, officials said.
A health official at district hospital Pulwama told Greater Kashmir that four persons injured in Shopian were brought to the facility for treatment.
“Two were hit by bullets in their legs while two others had pellet injuries,” said the official, adding that the duo with firearm injuries will be referred to Bone and Joints Hospital Barzulla for specialized treatment.
Earlier, witnesses said that the forces had sealed all roads to prevent a large funeral for slain Al Badr commander Zeenat ul Islam at his native Sugan village of Shopian.
They said that the forces fired live ammunition and pellets at the protesters who pelted them with stones.
