Jaipur, January 14: BJP MLA and Leader of Opposition Gulab Chand Kataria was on Monday administered the oath of Protem Speaker by Rajasthan Governor Kalyan Singh at Raj Bhawan here.
Among others who graced a brief oath ceremony included Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and his cabinet colleagues.
Kataria will take over the Speaker’s chair in the state Legislative Assembly at 11 hrs and administer the oath to the newly elected 199 MLAs when the first session of 15th assembly starts its first session on Tuesday.
The new Speaker’s election is scheduled in the House on January 16 after completion of MLAs’ oath, and the Governor’s address will be held on January 17.
