The 300-km long Srinagar-Jammu highway is open for one-way traffic despite heavy snowfall across Kashmir on Wednesday.
The Srinagar-Jammu highway is open and traffic was plying from Srinagar to Jammu while other major highways remained closed for traffic, police said on Twitter.
“Road Status: #Srinagar-Jammu highway open, Traffic plying from Srinagar to #Jammu; Srinagar-Kargil road Closed; Anantnag-Kishtwar road Closed; Mughal Road closed; Bandipora-Gurez road closed; Kupwara-Karnah, Kupwara-Keran, Kupwara-Machail roads closed. @JmuKmrPolice,” Police tweeted.
Fresh snowfall began today morning at many places across the valley including summer capital Srinagar, breaking the intense cold wave conditions.
Weatherman has predicted another heavy spell of snow from Saturday, which he said could disrupt surface and air connectivity to the valley.
