The Habba Kadal constituency incharge of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mudasir Amin Khan resigned from the party on Sunday.
In a letter addressed to PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti, Khan said he was tendering his resignation from the basic membership of the party.
“Madam,I am writing to let you know that I have decided to resign from Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as In Charge of its Habakadal assembly constituency as well as its primary membership, effective this day,” he said in his letter.
Khan said it was with much hope and belief that the people of Jammu and Kashmir gave a mandate to JKPDP under the leadership of Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Saheb in the last assembly elections.
“However, the dismal performance under the PDP led government after his demise, people of Jammu and Kashmir not only suffered socio-economically but I personally believe that the principles which had led to the foundation of this party were observed in breach,” he said.
Khan said that he was resigning from the party in view of the present political circumstances, especially the way party leadership was running its affairs.
