Gunfight breaks out in north Kashmir’s Baramulla

A gunfight broke out between militants and the government forces in Binner village of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday.

A joint team of army’s 46 RR, SOG of the state police and 53 BN CRPF launched a cordon-and-search operation in Binner village on the outskirts of Baramulla today afternoon, reported news agency.

It said the gunfight broke out after the forces approached the suspected spot where the militants were hiding.

An exchange of fire between militants and a joint team of police and the forces took place in the area, the reported quoted SSP Baramulla Imtiyaz Hussain as having said.
