Chandigarh, January 29: Surprisingly, PU did not organise ‘Pariksha pe Charcha’ live telecast on Tuesday. However, last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech was shown live at the Law Auditorium.
Director, Public Relations, Renuka Salwan, said, “This time we sent the links to departments to watch ‘Pariksha pe Charcha’, but hardly any department showed it to their students.”
According to second reminder of the UGC, dated January 28, the varsity was to ensure maximum participation of students during the live telecast. It was also directed to upload photographs and videos on the university activity monitoring portal of the UGC. Similar letters were also issued on January 9 and January 22.
However, Modi’s speech was telecast live across all schools and colleges of the city. The focus of the programme was to remove stress, discomfort and exertion during exams.
Education Secretary BL Sharma and Director, School Education (DSE), RS Brar, sent a contingent of students, parents and teachers for ‘Pariksha pe Charcha’ programme, which was held in New Delhi.
