New Delhi: Underworld Don Ravi Pujari, has been arrested in Senegal, West Africa reports claimed. The Senegal Police reportedly acted on a information provided to them by Indian Intelligence agencies. The action against the fugitive gangster was taken following a Red Corner Notice issued against him by the Bengaluru City Police.
Ravi Pujari was believed to be mentored by gangster Chhota Rajan, who is currently in a jail in Navi Mumbai.
In 2018, JNU student Umar Khalid, student activist Shehla Rashid and Dalit leader and Gujarat legislator Jignesh Mewani had allegedly received death threats from Pujari.
Pujari was also in limelight between 2009 and 2013 for allegedly demanding extortion from Bollywood celebrities.
Last year in April, a Mumbai court had granted five years imprisonment to at least 10 members from the Ravi Pujari group who planned to kill the filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and his family in 2014.
Earlier this month, the Crime Branch of the Mumbai police had arrested an alleged aide of Pujari from suburban Goregaon. William Albert Rodricks (21) was nabbed from Oshiwara area by the Anti-Extortion Cell (AEC) of the Crime Branch. Rodricks allegedly kept Pujari informed about builders in the area who could be targeted for extortion. Agencies
