Chandigarh, Feburary 3: The BJP has played with dreams of villagers. First, the BJP brought villages under the jurisdiction of the Municipal Corporation unconstitutionally and then it mislead their sarpanches by saying that villages would be developed under the civic body.

This was stated by former Union Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal Bansal while addressing participants at a function, which was also attended by the Chandigarh District Congress Committee (Villages).

The BJP had then brought strict laws by stating that the construction beyond red line of villages was illegal and action would be taken against violators, he added.

Bansal said he had forced the Administration to withdraw the notification from Darshani Bagh of Mani Majra, Deep Complex of Hallo Majra and Gobindpura.

The plan and scheme had been conceived to regularise construction even beyond the red line so that villages could be developed as per expectation of villagers, he added.

“I did not allow the Administration to touch a single building, which was constructed beyond redline during my tenure for sake of village development,” said Bansal.

Criticising the Budget Bansal said, “The Centre has not allocated Budget for Chandigarh. On the contrary, the BJP has imposed taxes on villages on the lines of people living in the city and started looting innocent villagers.”

Pardeep Chabbara, Subhash Chawla, Gurpreet Singh Happy, Raju Palsora, Daljeet Singh, DD Jindal, Bhupinder Singh Badheri, Harphool Kalyan, Surinder Singh, Gurbax Rawat, HS Lucky and Manjit Singh Chauhan attended the function.
