Chandigarh, February 5: The sambar, which strayed into Sector 22 market on Monday, died of internal injury and trauma later.
The animal had invited attention, awe and fear from the passers-by while it moved scared trying to run away.
A video of a few men trying to tame the animal had gone viral on social media. The video shows a clumsy-rescue operation by the wildlife staff, who were trying to trap the sambar.
