Three bodies were recovered on Friday while three policemen were rescued alive from the debris of a snow avalanche that buried a police post near Jawahar Tunnel in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district last evening, reports said.
Ten persons comprising six policemen, two fire service personnel and two prisoners were buried alive after a snow avalanche struck a police post near Jawahar Tunnel.
A rescue operation was immediately launched to rescue the trapped persons.
Quoting officials, news agency reported that three bodies were recovered by the rescuers from the avalanche site.
Earlier, three policemen were rescued alive by the rescuers which included teams of the state police, SDRF and the army.
An official said that searches are underway to rescue the remaining four persons.
