Chandigarh: A day after AAP national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal slammed Kirron Kher over her performance as the city MP at a rally held here yesterday, she got praise from Gul Panag, who had contested against her in the last Lok Sabha elections from Chandigarh as the AAP candidate.
In her tweet today, Panag, while making it clear that she was not joining the BJP, said, “Kirron Kher is an actress but she has been a dutiful MP and her attendance record in Parliament is over 75 per cent. There have been many good parliamentarians from a plethora of professions, including the film industry.”
Thanking Panag, Kher replied that hearing such a comment from her “most worthy opponent” had truly humbled her. Kher claimed that her attendance in Parliament was over 85 per cent. She wrote, “What’s hilarious is that Arvind Kejriwal checked my attendance from Bhagwant Mann, whose own attendance is 56 per cent, much below the national average. He barely came to the House, so obviously he didn’t see anyone there.” Kher said she did many “firsts” for the city despite not being a “career politician”.
She claimed that she brought the first-ever” industrial policy. She got approval for the Tribune flyover and an under-bridge at Mani Majra. The age limit for citizens to get jobs was also extended during her tenure.
