The mobile Internet speed was throttled in parts of Kashmir valley on Wednesday following a shutdown call issued by the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) against the custodial death of a teacher.
An official said that the services have been reduced from 4G to 2G in two districts of Budgam and Srinagar in central Kashmir.
Rizwan Assad Pandith of southern Kashmir’s Awantipora, died in police custody on Tuesday, triggering outrage across Kashmir.
The school teacher was picked-up by the police from his home few days back.
A magisterial probe has also been ordered in the case.
