Shimla, March 24: Ten students were wounded—four seriously—in a clash between Akhil Bhatariya Vidyarthi Parisahd and Students Federation of India members on the Himachal Pradesh University campus on Sunday morning.
the clash began at 6 am on Sunday morning on the university campus. ABVP claims SFI attacked them in their shakha, while SFI blames the SBVP for starting the scuffle.
Four people who have been seriously wounded are Avinash Rana, and students only identified by their first names—Sahil, Manish and Pankaj. All ten injured are being treated at Shimla’s IGMC, ABVP district president Gaurav Attri.
It’s unclear to which student outfit the wounded belong. Education minister Suresh Bhardwaj is believed to have visited the hospital to enquire about them. Clashes have sporadically been known to erupt between the two rival outfits.
