Srinagar: Reacting to reports of the two minor Hindu sisters, who were allegedly kidnapped and forcibly married after being converted to Islam in Pakistan’s Sindh province, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti, on Monday demanded action against the culprits and corrective measures, immediately.
Mehbooba, who is the former chief minister of J&K, said the ‘new Pakistan’ that its Prime Minister and people envisage can’t be where girls are abducted, forcefully converted and married off to strangers.
Whether its India or Pakistan, lets ensure our minorities are safe and live dignified lives, Mehbooba said.
“The naya Pak that its PM & awam envisage can’t be where girls are abducted, forcefully converted & married off to strangers. Culprits should be punished & corrective measures must be taken asap. Whether its Ind or Pak, lets ensure our minorities are safe & live dignified lives,” Mehbooba tweeted.
The two minor girls, Raveena and Reena, were allegedly kidnapped by a group of ‘influential’ men from their home in Ghotki district in Sindh province in Pakistan on the eve of Holi.
