Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a televised address informed the nation about how India had become an important space power.

India is the fourth country to have this power. Until today, only the US, Russia and China had achieved this, he said.

But before the announcement was made; social media began assuming the possibilities of why Modi wanted to address the country in the first place.

After the address, Modi tweeted: “#MissionShakti is special for 2 reasons:

(1) India is only the 4th country to acquire such a specialised & modern capability.

(2) Entire effort is indigenous.

India stands tall as a space power!

It will make India stronger, even more secure and will further peace and harmony.”
