DIPR organizes awareness prog on disaster management at Udhampur
UDHAMPUR, MARCH 30: In order to create awareness among the common masses about the disaster management, a painting-cum-symposium competition was organized by Department of Information & Public Relations (DIPR) at Polytechnic College here today.
Head of the Department (HOD) Polytechnic College, Udhampur Raj Shekhar was the chief guest on the occasion.
As many as 26 students of the host College participated in the painting and debate contest and expressed their views on ‘Sustainable Reduction in Disaster Risk’.
In painting competition, Sourab clinched 1st position while Mukesh Magotra and Faizan adjudged for 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. In symposium competition, Shivani bagged 1st position while Faizan and Abrar got 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
The chief guest applauded the efforts of the Information Department for organizing such kind of competitions and said that such awareness is must for everyone to deal with the emergent situations. He said students are the real ambassadors to spread such awareness in the society to deal with such natural disasters.
