Fire damaged a hotel in Mendhar town of Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday.
Reports said that fire erupted in the food court of a hotel at the main market today morning and soon engulfed the whole structure.
An eye witness said that local traders managed to remove the LPG cylinder from the hotel before it could explode, averting a major tragedy.
A police official said they were ascertaining the cause of the fire.
