Chandigarh: In view of ongoing “Swachhata Pakhwada from 1st April to 15th April 2019, the medical staff of Civil Dispensary 49 organized a health awareness talk in the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) colony of Sector 49. The talk was delivered by Dr. Kirtan Rana, Senior Resident, Department of Community Medicine and SPH, PGIMER along with Miss Anu (Pharmacist), Mrs. Kusum (MPW), Mr. Jasbir (malaria worker). Around 60 people attended the health awareness talk and they were told to keep cleanliness inside and around their homes. They were told about the breeding places of mosquitoes and the diseases (malaria, dengue and chikungunya) caused by them. The people were told to empty any container, tires or open ditches or even the rooftops containing water, so that mosquito cannot breed there. Further they were told about the grievance cell for lodging complains in case they found any related problem in their society. The health talk ended with a pledge taken by all the participants to keep their homes and society clean.
