Election training for 2nd batch of polling personnel ends at Leh

LEH, APRIL 06: Two day’s election training for 2nd batch of polling personnel who are to be deployed for polling duties for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Leh district concluded in Leh today under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner/ District Election Officer, Leh Avny Lavasa.

On the last day today, around 530 Government employees of Leh, Nyoma, Durbuk and Kharu Tehsils attended the training programme.

Addressing the gathering, DC Leh once again urged upon the employees to perform their election duties with utmost dedication having full knowledge about the functioning and working procedure of Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT), leaving no room for any kind of lapses. She said that self conduct of each polling staff is very much important in completing the entire election process in a free, fair and transparent manner.

 Lavasa further urged on the employees to maintain the credibility of Election Commission of India by following the guidelines seriously. She said that the training process remained result-oriented and more refresher trainings will be conducted before the elections.

The Nodal Officers for Manpower and Training, Dr Stanzin Rabgais and Dr Tondup Namgial gave training through presentation and meticulously highlighted the role and duties of Presiding and Polling Officers.

Likewise, a detailed training and live demonstration on the functioning and working procedures of EVM-VVPAT machines was also given to the employees by the Nodal Officers EVM-VVPAT Thinless Dawa and Mohammed Ayub.
