Zone level quiz competition on “Electoral Process” held at Ramban

RAMBAN, APRIL 08: District administration Ramban today organised a zone level Quiz Competition on the theme “Electoral Process” with the participation of over twenty Higher Secondary Schools besides series of crowd captivating awareness programmes on EVM, VVPAT and Ethical Voting. 

The events are being held under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign.

The winner teams of the quiz will participate in district level competition on April 10 – the aim of which is to encourage maximum   participation in forthcoming general election.

The SVEEP campaign is being carried out by the district administration in collaboration with Education and other department under the supervision of Nodal Officer SVEEP, (CEO) Ramban, AH Fani.

Prominent among others who were present in the programs were Dy. CEO, Subash Dubey, Master Trainer EVM, VVPAT,   principals, ZEOs and staff members of respective schools,  Sarpanches ,  Panches  and general public.

A Grand function was also held at HSS Bhanial where over 1200 students participated in different activities including election quiz, poll process, awareness on ethical voting etc.   A mock polling station was also set up for voters to get first-hand experience of voting on Electronic Voting Machine, EVM and VVPAT.

Nodal officer SVEEP threw light on importance of exercising right to franchise in a democratic setup.   While elaborating the concept of SVEEP for greater electoral participation, he appealed the students to disseminate the message for mass participation in the elections. 

The programmes ended with a mass pledge in which students, locals, district officers and others pledged to cast vote in the approaching Lok Sabha Elections.
