Chandigarh: In view of World Health Day, the Civil Dispensary in Sector 49 today organized a health talk among the Outpatient department visitors there. The talk was based on the theme of World Health Day 2019 “Universal Health Coverage”.
The talk was delivered by Dr. Sulav, junior resident, Department of Community Medicine and SPH, PGIMER along with Mrs. Veda ( staff nurse), Mrs. Nisha ( DOTS provider), Mrs. Sonipreet (ANM). The talk was attended by around 40 participants and they were told about the goal of UHC.
They were told about the various health services ( Antenatal, Postnatal, Pediatrics, NCD, TB) provided to the people in CD 49 and also were also told that the services provided to them is free of cost so as to avoid any health related expenditure on their part.
The participants were told that being healthy is their right and they should not face impoverishment seeking health care services. They were told about the “Ayushmaan Bharat” scheme being run by the Govt. of India and how they can get benefit because of that.
They were told about that CD 49 is there to provide equitable services to the people visiting the Civil Dispensary. The participants also actively participated in the talk any asked their queries regarding the topic and they were satisfactorily answered by the medical staff of CD 49.
